This morning, the kura went to pay their respects to Nanny Ngaro at Te Ore Ore. Our tamariki, along with the kōhanga reo did us proud. We spoke about our tūpuna of our tamariki, Paora Pōtangaroa, who once said, that te reo Māori would one day die, however, he also predicted that it would once again become a living language. Nanny Ngaro, was one of the first kaiako to support and guide the kōhanga reo in Whakaoriori.

We are very lucky! Every day matua Sommie cooks soup for all the tamariki of the kura.  Our tamariki love their soup.  The other week, after their Ataarangi class, our Nanny’s tested matua Sommie’s lovely soup.  According to them, matua Sommie makes a mean soup!

When we are informed about the dates, we will let you know.
